An Iowa legislator wants to make it a crime for any classic music act to perform in his state unless said act includes at least one of its original members:
So if this proposal becomes law, all you Iowans out there can just forget about seeing the ghost bands of Count Basie, Les Brown, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman and Harry James, not to mention Glenn Miller, a native son of Iowa who would roll over in his grave.
I mean, what's the harm in a ghost band? I went to an Earth, Wind & Fire concert last year, right? Earth and Fire quit the group in the '80s, Wind missed the show due to food poisoning and everybody still had a great time.
